Plants in the Moonlight

2018-present; stippled pen & ink

Plants in the Moonlight is an ongoing series of ethereal botanical drawings, stippled in white ink on black paper. I began with coffee but quickly moved to plants used in the textile world—cotton, madder, pomegranate—and will continue the series as I deepen my study with the natural dye plants that have been used and revered for centuries.

Each piece is 22” x 30” on deckled edge black paper; the pomegranate is a diptych that flows across two sheets of the same paper.
